Our Values, Motto, Vision and Mission Statement

St Mary’s Church of England Primary School

St Mary's Vision & Motto

It is our belief that there is something extraordinary and wondrous in everybody as unique creations of God. We value all our children as children of God and celebrate difference and diversity within a safe, encouraging Christian school environment in which all flourish.

Therefore, all will aspire with God's strength to reach for the stars.

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Our Values

Our Christian values of Love, Respect, Pride (joy and thankfulness in our achievements), and Endeavour (developing perseverance and resilience) supports our vision and motto. These ensure all our children and adults can reach for the stars, aspire to do all things and flourish as God would want them to. Through these values, our children develop good manners, good discipline, respect for themselves and respect for others which then becomes the norm and carries them into their future life.

Our Mission

Our Christian vision, motto and values are exemplified through our school mission statement. We will:

  • provide a Christian community where there are strong caring relationships built on moral values and mutual respect.
  • seek every opportunity that our school offers to flourish and reach for the stars.
  • value collective worship and times for personal reflection.
  • develop religious literacy through quality RE.
  • show endeavour, perseverance and resilience that prepares them to face the challenges of school and the wider world.
  • take pride in themselves and the work that they do.
  • respect themselves and others, recognising that we are all unique creations of God.
  • love one another as Jesus loves us.
  • maintain high expectations of the children and ourselves and remain sensitive and respectful to the community with its cultural diversity.
  • aim to equip all of our children with the knowledge, skills and values they will need to become responsible citizens within their local, national and global communities.
